Introduction
The TC Beirne School of Law at the University of Queensland is the oldest law school in the state of Queensland. The University of Queensland began in 1911 with a small mix of arts and science courses delivered in rooms of Government House and the intention to offer law. This intention was fulfilled over the first half of the twentieth century with much lobbying by the wider community, generous bequests and the leadership of W.S. Cumbrae Stewart, the University’s foundation registrar, librarian and first Chair of Law.

Bachelor of Laws (Honors)
The Bachelor of Laws (Honors) is a four-year program designed to develop a high-level understanding of the law, along with personal and professional skills transferable across a wide range of careers. Besides that, it has affiliated degree program with Singapore, Malaysia and India. These students may use the LLB (Hons) to fulfill the academic qualifications required for admission to the legal profession in their home country.
This degree is designed in away, that it develops the valuable skills in critical, balanced and analytical thinking. This program meets the academic requirements for admission as a legal practitioner in Australia.

The Bachelor of Arts/Laws (Honors) is 5 and half year program, it offers in-depth study of the concepts, principles, and policies and values of the law, both in Australia and in other jurisdictions. Study a law program that is distinguished by its nature strength and conceptual sophistication. Students can complement the law studies and broaden the knowledge by studying the Arts majors. They can select subjects from over 40 majors and gain an understanding of the humanities, fine arts, languages, political sciences or many more fields.
The Bachelors of Business Management/Laws (Honors)
The degree helps to develop business wisdom and self-confidence while study the concepts, principles, policies and values of the law, both in Australia and in other jurisdictions. It is also a 5 and half year program.
Graduate with the skills to lead people and projects. During your studies you’ll hear from guest lecturers from industry, examine real-life case studies, and undertake projects, placements, and internships with leading businesses.
Bachelors of Commerce/Laws (Honors)
It is a 5 and half year program, with 88 units of study. The Bachelors of Commerce/Laws (Honors) develops your business acumen and financial literacy, and gives you a high-level understanding of the concepts, principles, policies and values of the law, both in Australia and in other jurisdictions.
Bachelors of Economics/Laws (Honors)
The program will teach students how to question, analyze, model and predict behavior while they study the concepts, principles and policies. Besides these, student will learn about the values of both in Australia and in other jurisdictions.
Bachelors of Journalism/Laws (Honors)
This degree program is design to cover both journalism and law. The journalism includes the subjects related to all type of media. That is Print, electronic media and the ample knowledge of law and different dimensions of law.
Bachelors of Science/Laws (Honors)

TC Beirne School of Law-Postgraduate Study Program
The TC Beirne School of Law at the University of Queensland offers a Masters of Laws degree program in different subjects. These postgraduate degree programs include Masters in Law, LL.M, Masters in International Law, and Masters in International Commercial Law. Alongside these Masters’ program, one of the top law schools in Australia offers Dual Master’s degree program. These dual degree master’s degree programs include Masters in International Relations/International Law and International Commercial Law/Commerce.
Masters in Law, LL.M Program
The LL.M can be taken as a 16-unit (1 year) or 24-unit (1.5 year) program. The 16-unit Master of Laws is designed for applicants with an approved honors-level or master’s level law degree leading to admission to legal practice. The needs of contemporary legal practice drive the courses, which cover both theory and practice. With AUD $40,064 tuition fee, the fundamental courses are Public Law, Private Law and Fundamental of Common law. Besides that, students can have plenty of choices from electives, according to their interests.
Masters in International Law
This program is for the students of law and non-law as well. Study how international law shapes almost all forms of global interaction, from business and trade to diplomacy and acts of war. This 24-unit master’s program is designed for applicants with an approved bachelor’s law degree leading to admission to legal practice (LLB or JD). The needs of contemporary legal practice drive the courses, which cover both theory and practice. The annual fee is AUD $40,06, with a 1.5-year program. Well, basic law subjects are the same; this degree only differs in the electives.
Masters in International Commercial Law
This degree is particularly designed for business, commerce, economics or law graduates, or graduates working in the field of international commercial operations. The MICLaw is designed for students with a commercial background wishing to focus their studies on areas of law relevant to international commercial operations. The program is available to students who have an undergraduate degree in law and also students who have an undergraduate degree in business, commerce or economics. The 1 and half year program has a tuition fee of AUD $40,06.
Dual Degree Programs
Masters of International Relations/International Law
International Law is available as a dual program with the Master of International Relations. This is 2 years program, and each year is dedicated to the teach subject. So, students can attain two master’s degrees in two years, the Master of International Relations and the Master of International Law. Entry is through work experience and study, while, no law degree required to get admission. The tuition fee for this degree is AUD $37,136 per annum.
Masters of International Commercial Law/Commerce
The tuition fee for this degree is AUD $41,488 per annum; it is also 2 years program. Through completing the program, students are able to integrate their existing understanding of, and experience in, business, with skills for eliciting organizational requirements, and designing, developing and managing systems involving business data. The program thus equips students with a broad knowledge of technology issues, and targeted skills to develop well-rounded Business Analysts with a specialization in Information Systems.
